Bronze

Bronze is a copper-based alloy with typically a high copper content and tin in a lessor quantity.  Other common additives that can be present include lead, zinc, nickel, aluminium and iron in varying percentages depending on the specific alloy.  These additives produce a range of alloys that may be harder than copper alone, or have other useful properties such as stiffness, ductility or machinability.

Depending on the bronze alloy used, common uses are bushes, bearings, gears, pump and valve components, marine applications and general engineering purposes. Generally, bronze has low friction resistance, good machining properties and is resistant to corrosion.

George Weston & Sons typically stock LG2 Bronze, Aluminium Bronze, Phosphorus Bronze and a large range of Bronze Bushes.
